Remembrance - Day 33 of 40

Two folks who I have no doubt
have carried me in their thoughts and prayers
during the hard, feel-like-I'm-falling parts
of my journey.

Saturday Snippets

A different door leads to a different Mary.

💙. 💙. 💙

Fine Fall Flower

Raking leaves is quite the
seemingly unending
task.

On this day,
Hubby took 5 pick-up loads of leaves
(from the front yard alone!)
and added them to
what he calls our
"Mount Leafmore."

Delightful Fall Morning

Yesterday's walk to the mailbox
included delighting in the fact
that we still have some pretty fall color.

Autumn Afternoon Invitation

After walking to the mailbox on this gorgeous day,
I decided to spend some time in my swing.

As I was formatting the above picture,
this little red leaf gently floated down,
landing on my mail-filled sack.

An invitation to look up and pay attention?

 😉

As I was walking in, I found this *huge* leaf!

I decided to bring it in
along with my playful little red reminder.

Such a festive, personal invitation to be Grounded right here
and to find Joy in this very moment.

Shutter Happy ~ Day 18 ~ I Made This

It brings me great pleasure
to pull out this little fall-themed tabletop quilt
that I made several years ago.

Shutter Happy ~ Day 17 ~ My Favorite Time of Day

One of my absolute favorite times of the day
is my walk to the mailbox,
especially on a glorious autumn afternoon.

Shutter Happy ~ Day 14 ~ Nature

Hands down, Fall is my very favorite season of the year. Growing up on the Texas prairie
where there weren't many trees, we often made an annual family pilgrimage to New Mexico.
We oohed and ahhed at the glorious golden aspens and took many a picture. Smiling fondly
because even tho we knew from years of experience that a photo can never quite capture
Autumn's beauty?  We still tried (and tried 😉).

I also very much enjoyed visiting what I came to fondly refer to as "The Cauliflower Hills."
The reds, oranges, golds, and greens covering the large hills on either side of the road sang
out to my heart. In my mind's eye, each bush resembled a cauliflowerette and, nestled
together, they looked like a cheerful patchwork quilt in a "head of cauliflower" pattern.

I talked to Daddy this afternoon and he said that my beloved "Cauliflower Hills" are located
on the small road heading south from Taos, NM to the tiny town of Mora, probably actually
more south of Mora (on 518). He said he thinks all of the cauliflowerettes are probably
scrub oak.

What a delight to now have leaves of many colors in my own front yard! Well, she adds
with a twinkling grin, that is until leaf raking time. 😉

Who knew there were so many leaves up there?!

Shutter Happy ~ Day 13 ~ Something Good to Eat

Last night's bowl of warm Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
was nourishing to both body and soul,
as was the time spent making it.

Such good medicine for an aching heart
to take a screen break
and focus on peeling root vegetables,
roasting them,
and simmering them with vegetable broth and spices.

. . . . .

Garlic toast and a cup of milk
were the perfect soul-satisfying accompaniments.

Shutter Happy ~ Day 3 ~ Someone Who Makes Me Smile

Taking a moment to say "hey" to Mary
always brings a warm smile.

Running by for a Visit

Guess who I went to go see?
Needed to drive around awhile
so I could get our truck's emissions tested
so I decided to go say hey.

Outlet

A few quiet moments enjoying my swing
on another perfectly lovely fall afternoon
is a fine way to unplug and recharge.

Recover, too.

.       .     .     .     .

Smiling because when I took this photo,
I honestly thought our prompt for today's
#BreatheSeptember2017
was Outlet.

In looking back, no telling *where* I got that prompt!
It wasn't anywhere on our list.
I then double-checked my August Break list,
which was still handy and it wasn't on there either.

I did need the break from screen time today
so it was actually pretty perfect.

Maybe the angels whispered it to me?

Yes, I think so.

Swing Time . . .

. . . on a gorgeous afternoon.

Still not feeling well yet.
Just walking to the mailbox wore me out
so I sat in my swing for a bit,
allowing nature's medicine to do her work.
