Catching Up with Good Friends

My favorite partner has been wanting to take me to lunch
since my last day at work.

We met at the old office
so I went over a little early to say hello
to some other good friends first.
My beautiful 4 Sisters
in their stark winter dress.

Without meaning to,
we wore the same color sweaters!

Along with a yummy lunch
at F & B
(a French bistro),
it was a Joy to catch up.

Blessed be.

Remembrance - Day 32 of 40

Aunt Loretta was a successful university professor and author
in her chosen field of nursing.

Reckon she, Gwen (a beloved teacher),
and Archangel Uriel (who one of my 4 Sister Trees is named after)
are wanting to reassure me that,
when the time comes,
I'll know what the right next thing will be in exchange for a paycheck?

 Could very well be.
..

For now,
with Mama Grace's blessing,
I want to continue to "spend" my energy and time well,
focused on the task at hand of remembrance.

Blessed be.

Remembrance - Day 6 of 40

Dr. Cannon was a wise psychology professor and I felt very blessed to be included under
his wing, a place usually reserved for divorced women starting their lives over and looking
to support themselves and their children.

He had so many gems of wisdom that he shared over and over in class (so we'd remember)
and, to this day I often quote him.  He also saved me (and others) a lot of heartbreak by
walking me out of my very last exam under him, put his arm around me and gently said
he didn't think I was cut out for the front lines.  It was very hard to hear this from him...
what else would I do with my life?  But what I also knew in my bones is that he deeply
cared for me and if this crusty curmudgeon was telling me this in such a tender way?
I needed to listen.

And, in time, I came to know he was very right.

When I was creating my list of 40's, I originally had planned to put him on a blue slip
of paper but then I got to wondering if perhaps he'd already passed.  In doing a bit of
googling I found his obituary here.  Rest in Peace, Dr. Cannon!

.     .     .     .     .

Bill iss a kind soul who was very supportive of me not long after my parents divorced.
I'm not sure how we got connected really, other than being in the same parish.  He has
a wonderful hearty laugh and helped me to reason things out a few times, even going to
bat for me once when I'd hit a car in a parking lot.

I love that we've exchanged Christmas greetings all these years.  Although, she says with
a sad smile, his health has been deteriorating and he made a note in last year's card that
it may be the last one he sends.  I send him my love and prayers.

.     .     .     .     .

At first I felt confused when "Engage" came up with these two men but then I looked
it up in my guidebook.  "Engagement means making an active connection with
someone or something.  Accepting the invitation."  Ah, yes.... I see it, angels.  Both of
these fellas kindly accepted the invitation to be gentle guides in my life.

Blessed be.

Shutter Happy ~ Day 4 ~ Favorite Color

Remember when it was Orange that seemed to be winking at me
every time I turned around?

 🏮   .   🍊

Well now it appears that light purple is gathering around me
in a playful game of Ring Around the Rosies.

☂️   .   💜

This makes me so very happy as lavender
was my beloved grandma's favorite.

(Plus I am so much more drawn to this color,
a combination of my first and second faves, blue and pink. 😉)

Running by for a Visit

Guess who I went to go see?
Needed to drive around awhile
so I could get our truck's emissions tested
so I decided to go say hey.

Breathe September 2017 :: Day 6 - Read

It was a delight to (re)discover just now
that the theme for September's prayer for Wednesdays
in "The Celtic Wheel of the Year"
is "Trees."

Framing my shot,
I remembered this sweet little wooden heart,
a gift from a friend,
lovingly hand carved by her precious pop.

Smiling warmly as I am feeling on time over here this evening,
a true gift during this uncertain time.

 Blessed be.

Breathe September 2017 :: Day 5 - Movement

I shall miss watching my loves change into their beautiful autumn frocks on a daily basis
this year.

When taking this photo of my Dogwood Twins, Grace and Mercy, this afternoon I didn't
realize that one of my 4 Sisters, Michael, was winking at me from my side view mirror.

It brings me sadness to share that our last "everyday" day together will be next Friday and,
alas, it will also be my last day at my job of 13 years.  After much thought and prayer, I've
come to know that the new office is just way too far for me to drive.

As I feel my way into my next right thing, I trust these dear and cherished friends of mine
shall continue to watch over and send their blessings to me from afar.  Who says a tree
can't be a guardian angel? Certainly not me.

Your thoughts and pray would be welcome, too, friend.

Blessed be.

Blessing Basking

On my way in this morning,
I pulled over close,
stopped for just a minute,
rolled my window down
 and allowed my 4 Sisters
to love on me a little bit.

Our weekdays together are numbered
as our office will be moving soon.
(No date yet)

..

Blessed be.

Happy Birthday Tree Love

Lookie at the birthday love that arrived today's mail!!

My dear artist sister-friend,
who has been hearing me speak fondly of them for almost 9 years now,
painted a picture of my beloved 4 Sisters for me!

Plus!

The Dogwood Twins are there too
and, just like in real life,
are standing a little ways from their big sisters,
down on the right.

And!

It brought *such* delight
to notice that all of their shadows
are angel wings!

Her sweet thoughtfulness couldn't be more perfect!

Blessed be.

The 4 Sisters and me

Can you see me leaning against Michael?

Raphael and me.

Do trees photo bomb?
If so, that's Gabriel to the left.
