Catching Up with Good Friends

My favorite partner has been wanting to take me to lunch
since my last day at work.

We met at the old office
so I went over a little early to say hello
to some other good friends first.
My beautiful 4 Sisters
in their stark winter dress.

Without meaning to,
we wore the same color sweaters!

Along with a yummy lunch
at F & B
(a French bistro),
it was a Joy to catch up.

Blessed be.

Remembrance - Day 32 of 40

Aunt Loretta was a successful university professor and author
in her chosen field of nursing.

Reckon she, Gwen (a beloved teacher),
and Archangel Uriel (who one of my 4 Sister Trees is named after)
are wanting to reassure me that,
when the time comes,
I'll know what the right next thing will be in exchange for a paycheck?

 Could very well be.
..

For now,
with Mama Grace's blessing,
I want to continue to "spend" my energy and time well,
focused on the task at hand of remembrance.

Blessed be.

Breathe September 2017 :: Day 15 - Gratitude

Delighted to share that today was a good last day at my job. Kind words and warm hugs
were exchanged and I was sent home with 2 lovely bouquets of flowers, a card with
handwritten farewells from my co-workers, and a gift card.

Blessed be.

Smiling softly because,
while it took some time to get here,
I am indeed feeling at Peace about it all.

And it's not quite over yet, she adds with a warm grin. With one of the biggest tax deadlines
being today and the office moving tomorrow (talk about *crazy* timing!!), my favorite
partner pulled me aside and said he wanted to take me to lunch at a really nice place in the
next week or so.

After that?
I'm looking forward to some time to just be off
and see what comes next.

Breathe September 2017 :: Day 5 - Movement

I shall miss watching my loves change into their beautiful autumn frocks on a daily basis
this year.

When taking this photo of my Dogwood Twins, Grace and Mercy, this afternoon I didn't
realize that one of my 4 Sisters, Michael, was winking at me from my side view mirror.

It brings me sadness to share that our last "everyday" day together will be next Friday and,
alas, it will also be my last day at my job of 13 years.  After much thought and prayer, I've
come to know that the new office is just way too far for me to drive.

As I feel my way into my next right thing, I trust these dear and cherished friends of mine
shall continue to watch over and send their blessings to me from afar.  Who says a tree
can't be a guardian angel? Certainly not me.

Your thoughts and pray would be welcome, too, friend.

Blessed be.

An Anniversary and Two Letters

Today marks my 13th anniversary of working at my company. (Brady Ware is the
one that acquired us on January 1).

Something I'm not sharing more publicly just yet is that today is also the day that
I turned in my resignation.

The company is moving our location to a new area on Sept 16 that, turns out, is just
too far for me to drive.

In fact, it was our managing partner, Teresa, who kindly took a few moments three
weeks ago to pull me aside and say "the closer we get to our move date, the more
and more concerned I'm getting about you." She's dreading the drive herself and also
knows that, with my being permanently on crutches, I can feel pretty vulnerable
(and anxious) behind the wheel and I that do my best to avoid heavy traffic.

At her suggestion, hubby and I drove up there and it took *45 minutes* one way on
a Sunday afternoon so that's without Atlanta traffic.

Just that realization alone
knocked the wind out of me.

While it took me a couple more weeks to come to peace with it, I had a sense then
that I'd need to let go. Before I did that, just like Jacob wrestled with the angel until
he received his blessing (and walked away with a limp to remind him of the struggle),
I asked all the questions I could possibly think of that would allow me to stay. Could
I work 2 or even 3 days from home? (We were all issued laptops so it wasn't too far
fetched). Could I be trained to do something else? Teresa was willing to consider all
of my questions and even discreetly brought in a gentleman from the home office.
In the end, it just wasn't going to work and I do understand and appreciate their
reasons.

So today my supervisor and I traded letters. I gave her my sincere and honoring letter
of resignation and she gave me a very kind letter of recommendation from Teresa. In
fact, tears pricked as I read her glowing last review of me and my work.

I feel sad and I really, Really don't want to job hunt.
I am also feeling a deep sense of peace about it all.

So there we be ...

Please know, kind friend,
that I'm grateful for your witness.
(Again)

❤️

August Break 2017 :: Day 23 - Sign

When Abide was my word last year,
I created this sign and taped it to the back of my office door.

Whether it registers that day or not,
each time I close my door for lunch
my faithful little road sign is right there,
quietly, gently guiding me home.

Southern Summer Treat

My favorite partner, who's Love Language is Gifts,
left another treat for me on my desk this morning.

🎁

When he stopped by later,
he said they received 3 identical copies this month
so he thought I might enjoy one of the extras!

Blessing Basking

On my way in this morning,
I pulled over close,
stopped for just a minute,
rolled my window down
 and allowed my 4 Sisters
to love on me a little bit.

Our weekdays together are numbered
as our office will be moving soon.
(No date yet)

..

Blessed be.

Saturday Snippets

Rode along with hubby on a gray, rainy Saturday.

☔️   .   🌫   .   💜

When he finished up with his treasurer duties
we shared a late patio lunch
and then went for a short walk
to check out the bakery next door.

While Hubby did a little more exploring,
I was enchanted with these lanterns.

It was a good day.

Hope will Find You, Deb

So I picked up a small navy notebook that's been sitting on top of this little stack of books
for a good while now. Having looked up what I was wondering, and not thinking too much
about it, I put the notebook down and went on with my afternoon journaling.

Taking a pause to look around between thoughts a few moments later, I was taken by
surprise to find just the words of comfort that I need during this time of transition and
struggle with the unknown at work (our company was bought out the first of the year).

Smiling softly as the uncovered message felt like a secret treasure and very well-timed
gift of Grace. Right here next to me, below my mandala that I named "Sheltered in the
Cave of the Heart," the two books were offering me their quiet assurance: "Hope will
find you", Deb. Just remember - "Present over Perfect" and All will be well.

.

Ah, blessed be.

Sweet Hubby's been busy filling
7 trash cans
and
7 paper leaf bags
with oak leaves.

Wednesday Reds

Our azaleas are early this year.
(Ms. Red's pink next door neighbor is already drooping)

Discovered another delightful surprise from my favorite partner at work.

Windin' 'er Down

One of my main tasks at work in the last little while
has been winding down a software program
that I came to really enjoy working in.
