Remembrance - Day 40 of 40

"Peace comes from remembering Love is real."

And that's what my sweet little 40-day practice has been about. . .

Remembering some of the dear people 

who have touched my heart with their presence 

and Grounding, 

rooting myself in their Love. 

Smiling because along with Peace?

Grace, Mercy, Hope, and Joy 

have tagged along as well. 

It has indeed been a very good season of Remembrance.

and holding me in your thoughts and prayers.

Playfulness aside...

Feeling very vulnerable at my doctor's office today,

I came away feeling seen and heard by my doctor, 

grateful for the kindness of 2 of his staff,

and so thankful that hubby was by my side the whole way.

(Makes allllll the difference)

Betsy's All Better

Getting my Betsy-girl all fixed up.

My newest teacher.

May I be as gracious and willing to make it right

when I next make a mistake.

Not only did he pay for the part and the labor

to get my side view mirror fixed,

he also had my car detailed.

And he made sure they did it right

(which took three reminders).

The lumber had scuffed my hood

and the big band-aid left some duct tape residue.

But now?  

All gone.

He left us better than he found us.

Safe Place Blessings

After a wonderful Thanksgiving day spent with family, 

we stopped to air up our low tire on our way home. 

 I was so struck (and saddened) by the need for this sign. 

. 

May all who don't have a safe place to come home to 

be blessed 

and may they find the help and protection 

we all need and deserve.

Work Thanksgiving Lunch

Our firm has a lovely tradition of treating those of us who work on the Wednesday 

before Thanksgiving to lunch out at a nearby restaurant. 

Today it was the Cheesecake Factory. Yum!

So grateful that my favorite partner always lets me ride with him.

Operation Butternut Squash

Starting a family favorite in the welcomed company of a lit candle reminding me of 

Grace and those on my heart, a cute pilgrim couple to share smiles with, and my dear, 

always-faithful kitchen angels gently reminding me that they are always, 

always 

close by, still loving and watching over me. .

Thanksgiving People

Knowing how much cheer they would bring, 

Tadd asked me last night 

"Where are all of your Thanksgiving people? 

 Did we get them down yet?"

After he brought down the boxes and lots of smiles were found 

as I gently unwrapped each one, 

he carried them all into our front room for me. 

The biggest grin spread when I saw 

that he had lined them all up on our coffee table 

so that they could watch tv with us. 

 He's so thoughtful like that.

Cultivating Enough :: Day 1 :: Connection

I think my favorite thing about this picture is the softness I see in my face.

I've come a long way since I arrived home from work this afternoon,

filled up with tense rumination.

An evening of putting my house in order,

starting laundry,

watching cooking shows,

and cross stitching

has really helped to calm me.

I'm feeling a connection with the still, small place inside

and it is a blessing indeed.

Morning Snow

Spending a few moments enjoying the snow this morning. 

The lively song and dance of our wind chimes 

tells me it won't be long before our light dusting of white is gone.

Making a cup of hot chai latte tea, 

looking out, 

fondly remembering, 

and smiling contentedly. 

Life is good.

Thanksgiving Eve

Had some lovely company while baking my Thanksgiving pies. 

(Carmel Apple and Chocolate Pecan)

Smiling softly because I have such fond memories of spending time in each of their warm kitchens where life lessons were sprinkled in with the cooking guidance. Each has passed beyond the veil so while they may not be able to join me physically in my kitchen, I trust (and take deep comfort in knowing) they join me in spirit. 

I'm so grateful that I had my photo collage of them printed earlier this month! Having it close has been a gentle, welcomed visual reminder of these dear women that I love and miss so much and reminding me that they love me . . . still. 

 It's been a most blessed "Gathering of Spirits."
